Look at that picture of the Lake Michigan shoreline. That's not Tybee Island foam fringing the sand there...it's packed ice and broken snowballs. Going to a northern beach in winter is Anne of Green Gables romantic, especially with those wind-swept, tree clad dunes. I walked the sand with my sister Amy last Friday and tried to imagine, dimly, how it would sparkle in summer. Meanwhile, routine and schedule sweep on efficiently. I like that, even as I'm glad for interruptions from visiting family and an upcoming spring break. Our summer calendar is going to be so different from our school-year one, and I want to enjoy this pleasant clockwork before our season shifts.
Here are the suppers we anticipate for another week of usual:
Sunday: Leftovers, smoothies
Monday: Rustic beef stew, sweet potatoes, buttermilk biscuits
Tuesday: Beans and rice
Wednesday: Date night
Thursday: Homemade sushi
Friday: Dinner with friends
Saturday: Soft tacos, pineapple, salad
Look for recipes for some of the above later in the week!
